(MORE PHOTOS TO COME) (Emergency Case #23)

The photos shown illustrate the ugly reality of the puppy mill dog. These could be the parents of any adorable cocker spaniel puppy sold in pet stores across the country. These dogs come to us from a puppy mill in Missouri (one of the nation's biggest offenders from a puppy mill standpoint). They are getting out of the puppy mill business only because the heartless person who owned them died suddenly. Could this have been an act of Divine Retribution? If you are a believer in Heaven and Hell, you will have a good idea of which way this particular person went given the condition of the dogs entrusted to her "care". Of the 12 rescued, 10 are coming to Abandoned Angels. Of those 10, 5 are heartworm positive (which will kill if not treated), several have mammary tumors from being perpetually bred (a condition that, if malignant, will also kill), and several have been blinded by juvenile cataracts (which is hereditary, meaning that these dogs should never have been bred at all). All arrived in rescue so matted that to shave each dog down took a minimum of 4 hours. Underneath it all, each dog had developed terrible skin infections, the result of spending years encased in its own filth.

Please help our puppy mill survivors not just survive (something they have been doing for years) but also flourish. They are all in urgent need of medical care to heal their physical wounds and emotional scars.

So just how much is that puppy you see in the window? The cost of each such adorable puppy (who stands a good chance of ending up in a pound) is more suffering than you will ever imagine, derived from a brutal and morally repugnant industry few people will ever see. Please help us to help them and dogs like them ... Donate today!! All donations are tax-deductible as we are a 501c.
