Jade (Adopted)

Jade is a beautiful petite female buff Cocker Spaniel with golden brown eyes that will melt your heart. She is just two years old and weighs only 17 pounds. Jade was surrender to a local shelter by her owners because they claim their newborn baby was allergic to her. At the shelter the staff Vet determined that Jade was not a well dog. She was very depressed and not eating at all. So the shelter contacted me to see if I would take Jade or they would have no choice but to euthanize her later that night. Well I could not let this precious young Angel die without trying to find out what was wrong with her. Maybe it would be something simple to treat and hopefully not costly. Well, we are not so lucky, after just saving Destiny with the help from the public’s generosity; here we are once again trying to save another little Cocker Spaniel girl’s life. Jade is at another local Vet clinic receiving medical treatment. Her initial blood tests revealed she might have some type of liver ailment since her liver enzymes are quite elevated. Further blood tests have ruled out hepatitis and leptospirosis. The vet believes it could possibly be a liver shunt. If it is in fact a liver shunt, and it is outside of her liver, it might be operable or possibly treatable with medication. If it is inside her liver, it could prove deathly for Jade. In addition to this uncertain medical problem, Jade has an upper respiratory infection to battle as well. Jade is being fed a low protein diet, Hills Prescription ID dog food for dogs with intestinal problems. If she is given regular dog food, she will have diarrhea and become very ill. Therefore it is quite evident something is going on with her internally. At one point, the Vet even felt all this could have been caused by intestinal parasites that were left untreated for a long period of time. We are waiting the outcome of her fecal analysis. In the meantime, Jade has been dewormed with Panacure. Unfortunately, we really don’t know what is causing Jade to become so ill sporadically. She will have a couple of good days followed by a few bad days. An infectious disease specialist is being summoned as well as a gastroenterologist to review her case. Further tests are needed such as a Sonogram, Bile Acid test and even an Angiogram of her liver to determine the cause of her unpredictable ill health. Why are we doing all this, because Jade is the sweetest little girl imaginable. Through all her suffering, on her good days she gives kisses and wags her tail like a propeller. When she looks at you with her golden brown wide opened eyes, all you can see is Hope. Hope that she will feel better always, and live a normal life with a new family that will not abandon her at a kill shelter without saying a word. Jade is not ready to die, please help us give Jade a promising future. We are in the same position as we were for Destiny, reaching out to everyone once again to help us save a little Angel. Please help us to Save Jade! All prayers and donations are greatly appreciated and needed to help us afford her costly medical treatment. Thank you again,
