Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
WE SAID GOODBYE TO OUR PRECIOUS LITTLE MAX ON FEBRUARY 18th, 2010. HE TOUCHED OUR HEARTS WITH HIS AFFECTIONATE PERSONALITY. HE LOVED TO CUDDLE WITH THE ONES HE LOVED. WHETHER IT WAS ON OUR LAPS FOR LONG AND LOVING HOURS, OR SHARING HIS BED WITH A FELLOW RESCUE DOG. WHEN HE LEFT THIS WORLD HE WAS ON HIS FAVORITE LAP, IT WAS A VERY PEACEFUL MOMENT, WHICH COMFORTED OUR SADNESS. ON THE WAY HOME, WE FELT HIS PRESENCE IN THE CLOUDS. WE HAD VISIONS OF HIM WITH HIS WINGS, CUDDLING WITH OTHER BELOVED PETS ON HEAVEN'S RAINBOW BRIDGE. MAY HE REST IN PEACE, OUR LITTLE MAX. WE WILL MISS YOU, AND LOVE YOU ALWAYS. "There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart." - Ghandi.
SAD, SAD UPDATE: TODAY, 12/16/09, WE SAID GOOD-BYE TO OUR SWEET OREO COOKIE, CLIVE, WHO HAD BEGUN TO SUFFER THE EFFECTS OF AN AGGRESSIVE FORM OF MOUTH CANCER. DURING HIS BRIEF TIME WITH US, CLIVE WAS SPOILED WITH EVERYTHING HIS LITTLE HEART DESIRED, SAFE IN THE CARE OF OUR RESCUE'S FOUNDER. HE WAS AN EXCEPTIONALLY SWEET-TEMPERED COCKER WHO LOVED PEOPLE AND ENJOYED THE COMPANY OF HIS FELLOW DOGS IN RESCUE. CLIVE ENDED HIS LIFE WITH PEACE, LOVE AND DIGNITY. WE WILL SEE HIM AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, WHERE HE WAITS IN THE COMPANY OF OUR MOST PRECIOUS GROUP OF COCKERS ... THOSE ABANDONED ANGELS WHO ENDED THEIR LIVES IN OUR CARE AND THEREFORE CAME TO CALL RESCUE "HOME". REST IN PEACE, ANGEL BOY ... WE MISS YOU AND WILL LOVE YOU ALWAYS.
SAD UPDATE: IT IS WITH ENORMOUS SORROW THAT WE RELAY THE SAD NEWS THAT DEF LEPPARD HAS PASSED AWAY. ON AUGUST 20, 2008, WE HELPED OUR LITTLE ROCK 'N ROLL BOY CROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE. MUCH AS IT BROKE OUR HEARTS, WE PROMISED HIM THAT HE WOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO SUFFER, AND REMAINED TRUE TO OUR WORD. WE IMAGINE THAT DEF LEPPARD WAS GREETED AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE BY THE OTHER ABANDONED ANGELS DOGS WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY WHILE IN THE CARE OF A VOLUNTEER OR WHILE IN A FOSTER HOME. WHILE THESE DOGS WERE NEVER LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ADOPTED, THEY WERE NEVERTHELESS DEEPLY LOVED BY THOSE WHO KNEW THEM AND ARE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL OF US. OUR LITTLE ROCK STAR, DEF LEPPARD, TOUCHED OUR HEARTS MORE THAN WE CAN SAY. HE WAS A GENTLE, LOVING SOUL WHOSE EYES EXPRESSED ENORMOUS KINDNESS AND A DEEP INNER WISDOM, AS IF HE UNDERSTOOD ALL OF LIFE'S MYSTERIES. WE FEEL PRIVILEGED TO HAVE HAD THIS SPECIAL ANGEL WITH US, EVEN FOR TWO SHORT MONTHS. DEF LEPPARD WAS EVERYTHING ONE COULD HOPE FOR IN A DOG: A LOYAL COMPANION AND A BELOVED FRIEND. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM WITH GREAT TENDERNESS. REST IN PEACE, BELOVED FRIEND. WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU.
Biff ~ R.I.P. Bad news .... we lost Biff this morning (10/5/07). He did not survive heartworm treatment. Regrettably, his heartworm infestation was very severe. He had an embolism. He was actually doing better in the hospital...was off the oxygen, off the IV, eating, drinking and walking. They took him out to the bathroom and when they put him back in his kennel, he collapsed and died before they could even do anything. That's what happens with an embolism ... it is over in a matter of seconds. Biff was much loved and well cared for in his final days. He was in a kennel in the hospital ward which is right in the main room so he could be closely monitored. The girls there really liked him and paid a lot of attention to him. Poor little man...it's days like today that we really hate people who neglect their animals. A simple heartworm preventative once a month and Biff would have been spared all of his suffering. Many thanks to Biff's foster mom Rocky Gates, for everything she did to try to save this guy. He really was a sweet boy and he touched our hearts more than words can say. We are all very saddened that he did not make it. |
