Alona is a very pretty and petite pale buff Cocker Spaniel just 3 years old. Poor Alona arrived in rescue just after Christmas looking quite emaciated. She is a little wisp of a thing, weighing just 16 pounds. Whether she was denied proper feeding by whoever last owned her or was simply unable to fend for herself while stray on the street only Alona will ever know. At this time she is at least one-third under her proper body weight. Despite all she has been through, Alona remains a sweet and loving dog. As she is a rather shy girl, we would prefer to see her in an adult only home or in a home where any kids are older and somewhat dog experienced. Other than being overly thin, Alona appears to be a healthy girl. She will be spayed once she puts on adequate weight and is stronger, but in the meantime is current on all shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. She will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar. Having been down this road with other dogs, we expect her coat to thicken significantly once she receives proper nutrition. If you would like to adopt Alona or foster her while she continues to recover, please email and request an application. Alona is tired of being all alone in this world and is ready for someone to shower her with love.
