Meet Blondie, a 12-14 year old female Cocker Spaniel who has suffered severe neglect for several years. When this poor girl first arrived to our rescue, we discovered a tumor behind her right ear that was bleeding and oozing. We soon noticed that her left ear appears to be mutilated, lacerated, and dangling. Our vet believes that Blondie may have had a rubber band tied to her ear for years. The good news is that there is still blood flow to the lower half and her hearing is not affected. Sadly however, Blondie fell very ill during her second night in foster care and was rushed to a local vet who diagnosed her with possible pneumonia (most likely developed from kennel cough) because of her weakened and stressed state. She is currently on strong antibiotics and is resting comfortably again in her foster home. We are praying that Blondie makes a full recovery at which time we will schedule an appointment to have her tumor removed and biopsied, as well as remove a few warts from her back. If you would like to contribute to Blondie’s vet care, you may do so via PayPal using our PayPal email address: email@example.com. While in foster care, Blondie has been very friendly with other dogs and even shared a bed with the house cat! Her foster mom reports, “I just can’t imagine why someone would dump her to be killed. She is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met.” This love bug has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. She will be treated to a professional grooming and will go home with a new leash and collar. If you would like to take Blondie home, please click here to fill out an online application or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request one. In the meantime, this sweet senior will wait for the perfect place to officially call home.
