BRAVO UPDATE: 7/24/13: Bravo recently had surgery on his left ear to remove a large, infected tumor. Unfortunately, he had to lose about three quarters of his ear, but this did not affect his hearing. The tumor was biopsied and came back negative for cancer! Bravo for Bravo!
Bravo for me, I found rescue placement!! My name is Bravo. I am a purebred Cocker Spaniel roughly 11 years old. Recently I came into the Brooklyn Shelter as a stray with an enormous tumor on the outside of my ear flap. Of course no one came to claim me, nor was anyone lining up to adopt, so things were not looking great for me. Thankfully, rescue was able to take me in. Unfortunately, the tumor has caused such damage to my ear that I am going to lose a substantial portion of my ear flap. Of course I am very concerned about the cosmetic effect on me, but rescue tells me not to worry. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have such a special soul (and such excellent temperament) that someone is sure to love me for who I am. Although I am an older dog, I still have quite a bit of spunk and, despite this situation with my ear, am otherwise a healthy boy. I have been neutered, microchipped, am current on all shots and have tested negative for heartworm. I will shortly be treated to a dental cleaning, will be professionally groomed before adoption and will be sporting a new leash and collar at the time of going home. I am looking for a place to live out my life in security and comfort, whether on an adoptive or long-term foster basis. If you would like to take me home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org[removed]om or click here to complete and return an on-line application. I'll be waiting to hear from you. In the meantime, Bravo to you for considering the adoption or foster of a shelter pet!!
