Brenda is an 8 year old purebred Cocker Spaniel who comes to us from a high kill pound in rural Arkansas. Brenda was originally to come into rescue with a male companion dog, also a Cocker Spaniel, from whom she was completely inseparable. Tragically, the male died before rescue could get to him, therefore Brenda has travelled North alone to begin her life anew. She is of course heartbroken (as are we) but doing her best to put on a brave face. Brenda is an exceptionally gentle dog who is trustworthy with children (she has lived with 4 and 5 year old kids) and will happily assume the role of surrogate grandma to any little ones in the home. She is good with other pets as well (not just dogs, but also goats!!) Brenda is in need of "special needs" adoptive placement, as she has been rendered blind by cataracts. However, she will go home fully vetted (including spay/neuter, dental, heartworm test, microchip, and all vaccinations). Experience with blind dogs would be helpful but is not essential. Brenda is a very well mannered dog who is FULLY HOUSEBROKEN! All she needs is a warm heart and a loving home in which to live out her life with a caregiver who is sensitive to her visual deficit. If you would like to adopt Brenda (currently fostering in Rockport, Maine) please click here to complete an online application or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Brenda is waiting to hear from you.
