UPDATE: We have recently consulted a veterinary opthalmologist concerning Coko, whose vision is badly impaired. Due to untreated juvenile cataracts, Coko has been rendered completely blind in one eye, with her retina now detached. Although she does have vision in the other eye, the condition of that eye is also dire, such that she must have immediate surgery. To delay is to risk her sight. Coko's surgery will cost in the thousands, even with a rescue discount. She is such a young dog and so extraordinarily gentle that we must pull out all the stops for her and are urgently in need of your help. Please donate via paypal to recipient address as generously as you can. All donations are gratefully received and will be added to Coko's cookie jar (the cocker's version of a piggy bank). With all our pennies we can save her sight, so please look in her direction. We thank you on behalf of Coko!
Coko is a beautiful 3 year old purebred female Cocker Spaniel with a lovely chocolate coat. Coko comes to us from Animal Care and Control of NYC, where she was turned in as an owner surrender. Given her fabulous disposition, she will make an excellent family pet. Other than a small cherry eye (which we are having surgically corrected), Coko is very healthy. Coko has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. She will be professionally groomed before adoption and will be sporting a new leash and collar at the time of going home. If you would like to adopt Coko, please click here to submit an online application or email to request one. Coko is waiting to hear from you.
