Emergency Case #26

TRAVIS UPDATE (February 6, 2013): YAY!!! READY FOR FOSTER OR ADOPTION:

Today, February 6th, Travis went for his third recheck since eye surgery on January 3rd. The ophthalmologist was very pleased with Travis' progress. The prosthetic right eye is still in its healing phase, it will turn a variety of colors until it becomes brown like his other eye in about a month's time. We've already seen red, pink, gray and now it is white. The right eye, which had cataract surgery, has healed completely. Travis is now singing...

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin?for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there’s nothin?but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin?but blue skies

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

XOXOXO, TRAVIS

UPDATE (December 29, 2012):

Travis is scheduled to have eye surgery on January 3rd! Thank you to all that donated towards Travis' care and participated in our Holiday Raffle.

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

Grand Prize Winner: Isabelle Q.
2nd Prize Winner: Donna A.
3rd Prize Winner: Elisabeth G.

THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WHO PARTICIPATED!

This year, we are holding a very special raffle to help raise money for Travis.
At just 5 years old, Travis came to our rescue in horrible condition.
Covered in tar and matted to the skin, poor Travis also suffers from juvenile
cataracts and sees only shadows. We could not bear to let him die in the shelter.
Since he has been in our care, Travis has been treated with eye medication, however,
one of his cataracts burst and he now lost vision in his left eye.
The ophthalmologist told us that time is of the essence. Travis must have
cataract surgery in his other eye as soon as possible. If left untreated, the
chances of the other cataract bursting are good and he could be left completely blind.
We are doing everything in our power to prevent this from happening.

Travis is an amazing dog with a fabulous temperament. He is such a good boy,
in fact, that we believe he could be placed with young children and infants.
Travis has a full life ahead of him and could make a family so happy!
Please help us give the gift of sight to Travis!

3 lucky winners will be randomly chosen
