Lizzy is a lovely and gentle senior black Cocker Spaniel who comes to us from the Staten Island Shelter, where she was turned in as a stray. Given her sweet disposition, she soon became a shelter favorite, but there were no takers for her on the adoption floor. Sadly, at roughly 10 years old, age worked against her, as adopter after adopter passed Lizzy by. We maintain a special place in our hearts for seniors, who always strike us as exceptionally grateful and deserving of a second chance. Although we had no space for her, a cozy corner was somehow found, and Lizzy made her way to rescue. Lizzy has now received some much needed vetting and is ready to go home. She has been spayed, microchipped, has tested heartworm negative, and is current on shots. She has also been treated to a dental cleaning as well as to a professional grooming and will go home with a new leash and collar. Lizzy will make a wonderful family dog and is currently seeking either adoptive or foster placement. If you can offer her a place at your hearth, please email and request an application. Lizzy is waiting to hear from you!
