Mamma Mia is a very sweet and gentle 6 year old red sable female Cocker Spaniel. In 2008, she was one of our adopted Mission Impossible dogs. Sadly, her owner has become ill and is no longer able to care for her. Mamma Mia is now back in our rescue, and ready for another loving home. She is visually impaired due to cataracts in both eyes, but one would never know that she is handicapped. She is very curious and finds her way quite easily. She was evaluated by a Veterinary Ophthalmologist at Manhattan's Animal Medical Center, where it was determined that her vision could not be restored with surgery. We were very disappointed but have concluded that it is okay - she is very lovable just as she is. Mamma Mia is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She gets along well with other dogs, and does well with cats. Given her happy disposition, Mamma Mia would make an excellent family pet and should be fine with kids. If you would like to submit an application to adopt her - or foster while she awaits her forever family - please email and request an application. Mamma Mia says that she could use a little mothering right now - there is nothing she loves more than TLC!
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE SEEKING TO PLACE MAMMA MIA WITH HER HOUSEMATE, ISLE OF SKYE. MIA AND SKYE ARE FOSTERING IN THE SAME HOME CURRENTLY, WHERE SKYE ACTS AS MIA'S SEEING DOG. A BIG THANK YOU TO LYN OF NJ FOR OFFERING THESE GIRLS A SAFE AND LOVING FOSTER HOME.
