Save our Seniors, Sponsor Cassie & Anneka's Marathon Runs!

 Tammy Blythe Goodman January 2013

As avid runners and dog lovers, Cassie and Anneka Ward are thrilled to run Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge on behalf of Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue! This 39.3 mile run in Walt Disney World actually takes place over a course of 2 days on January 12-13th. They are running to help raise money for our senior rescued dogs, many of whom suffer from arthritis, glaucoma, ear infections, bladder problems, and more. These sweet souls are often dumped at the shelters by their heartless families and are the least likely to be adopted.

Alhough we cannot travel to Florida to cheer them on from the sidelines in person, we can show our support by sponsoring their run $.50-$2 for every mile they complete. Please consider sponsoring Cassie and Anneka today. Learn more.

Cassie sports her AACSR hoodie with Rudy, formerly known as Rhinestone Cowboy, adopted from AACSR.

Give the Gift of Sight this Holiday Season

Tammy Blythe Goodman December 2012

This year, we are holding a very special raffle to help raise money for Travis. At just 5 years old, Travis came to our rescue in horrible condition. Covered in tar and matted to the skin, poor Travis also suffers from juvenile cataracts and sees only shadows. We could not bear to let him die in the shelter.
Since he has been in our care, Travis has been treated with eye medication, however, one of his cataracts burst and he now lost vision in his left eye. The ophthalmologist told us that time is of the essence. Travis must have cataract surgery in his other eye as soon as possible. If left untreated, the
chances of the other cataract bursting are good and he could be left completely blind. We are doing everything in our power to prevent this from happening.
Travis is an amazing dog with a fabulous temperament. He is such a good boy, in fact, that we believe he could be placed with young children and infants. Travis has a full life ahead of him and could make a family so happy!
Please help us give the gift of sight to Travis!

Congratulations to Isabelle Q., Donna A., and Elisabeth G. who won our raffle prizes. Thank you to everybody who participated. Travis is getting his surgery!

Tammy Blythe Goodman Summer 2012

Thank you to Broadway Barks and the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals for including us in 2012's Broadway Barks event at Schubert Alley in Manhattan. Our Angels were a huge hit with the crowd, which included Broadway stars like Angela Lansbury and Bernadette Peters. Plus, we caught up with Actress Kate Loprest, who adopted Hazel from AACSR. We were truly thrilled to be a part of the event and hope to see you all again next year!
