Meet Sergeant Pepper ... a handsome senior Cocker Spaniel (10+ years old) who comes to us from a high kill pound in North Carolina. Sergeant Pepper has lost his Lonely Hearts Band and is looking for a new gig. Pepper has an extremely sweet nature and is gentle enough to be placed in a home with children. He is FULLY HOUSEBROKEN and has excellent manners. What's more, he gets along well with other animals, so could easily join a multiple pet household. Of course Pepper did not expect such a great big adventure in his senior years. We imagine that he would have liked very much to remain at home (wherever that once was) to enjoy the twilight of his life in the place he was accustomed to, rather than find himself in a high kill facility and then on a lengthy transport to the Northeast (where safety nevertheless awaited him). All the same, Pepper is taking things in stride, his head held high, with a glint of optimism in his eye. Although he is a senior pet, Pepper is nevertheless in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. He has also just been treated to a dental cleaning as well as to a professional grooming, so is all ready to go. We are currently seeking foster placement (or, better still, an adoptive home) for Pepper, where he can live out his life in comfort and security in the care of a loving family. If you would like to offer Sergeant Pepper a place to hang his hat, please click here to complete and return an application on-line, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Sergeant Pepper has a lot of love to give and is tired of being a Lonely Heart.
