X marks the Spot, so please be sure and bookmark this page, as Spot is waiting to hear from you. Spot is a handsome 7 year old Cocker Spaniel who comes to us from the Manhattan Shelter, where he was turned in as a stray. He arrived in quite horrific condition, thin, filthy and matted. Either he was on is own for a while or someone deliberately mistreated him, but either way his life has been poor, so it's time for that to change. Spot emerged from the shelter system with a serious upper respiratory infection. He is currently in the hospital being treated with IV fluids. Once he recovers, he will be neutered and will also be treated to a dental cleaning. At this time, Spot is fully vaccinated, has tested negative for heartworm, and is also microchipped. We are seeking adult only placement for Spot, preferably with someone who has rescue experience, as his recovery may take a while. Physical wounds can heal rather quickly, but the heart and mind are another story, and Spot may struggle with trust. If you are able to give Spot a chance (on either a foster or adoptive basis) please click here to submit an online application or email to request one. Perhaps there's a Spot in your home for him, somewhere curled at your feet.
