UPDATE: We have recently discovered that Tammy is a diabetic. However she is faring well on daily insulin shots, which have perked her right up. Her medical issues having been addressed, Tammy is now proving to be quite a happy, frisky girl. As she will need daily insulin injections for life (her insulin will be provided by rescue), we are seeking a very special foster home for Tammy where someone will be equipped to administer her insulin (no prior experience with diabetic animals is required ... Abandoned Angels will train).
Tammy is a very pretty senior Cocker Spaniel roughly 12 years old. Tammy comes to us from Animal Care and Control of NYC, where she was turned in as a stray. She has clearly not had a lot of pampering in recent years, so deserves a gentle retirement now where she can receive a lot of love. As she is quite a mild dog with a good temperament, Tammy should make an excellent family pet. Although an older girl, Tammy is a healthy dog who has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. She will be treated to dentistry as well as to a professional grooming before going home and will also be sporting a new leash and collar. If you would like to adopt or foster Tammy, please visit click here to complete and submit an on-line application, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Tammy is her own best poster child and a wiz at self-promotion, so we really need not say a whole lot more. Hers is the face that breaks a thousand hearts. Of course, with all the love she has to share, she puts them all back together again in no time at all. Happy Valentine's Day from Tammy XXOO
