Meet Teddy, a handsome purebred senior poodle roughly 12 years old. Poor Teddy's story simply breaks the heart. He was owned for the whole of his life by an elderly woman whose health was in serious decline. This poor lady (who could barely walk) found herself in tears at Animal Care and Control of NYC, where her heartless children compelled her to surrender the pet she had owned for a dozen years. She did her best to comfort Teddy when leaving him behind, speaking some gentle words to him, but Teddy was not at all consoled and fought with all his strength to follow her. The shelter staff was so upset by this terrible scene that they moved heaven and earth to find placement for this poor abandoned soul. We simply could not turn him away. Although Teddy is an older boy, he is nevertheless healthy with a friendly disposition. He is reported to be good with children as well as other animals. Teddy has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be treated to a dental cleaning as well as to a professional grooming prior to leaving rescue.
