UPDATE: WHISPER HAS BEEN FULLY VETTED AND IS NOW READY FOR PLACEMENT IN A FOREVER HOME. THE TUMOR ON HER ABDOMEN WAS DISCOVERED TO BE A BENIGN FATTY LIPOMA. SHE HAS COME THROUGH HER SURGERY LIKE A CHAMP AND LOOKS FORWARD TO A HEALTHY LIFE AHEAD.
My prayers were but a Whisper, but God appears to have heard me anyway. My desperate wish was to be cared for like any other cherished pet, so...mething that had evaded me during my first 5 years of life. I was previously so severely neglected that I became entombed in my matted coat. To move had actually become painful for me ... I am a Wheaton-Poodle Cross (a "Wheatie-poo"), so I require regular grooming, but during the whole of my life I cannot ever remember being groomed. With time I was deemed disposable, and ultimately some cruel person threw me onto a highway. I did my best to stay safe, the fact that I could not walk very well due to severe matting was actually to my benefit in this case, because I stayed out of the way of traffic. I also could not run when someone stopped their car to pick me up. This good samaritan contacted rescue, who immediately took me in and shaved me down. Underneath it all they discovered a large tumor on my abdomen, which remains to be assessed (it will be removed and biopsied to verify that it is benign). At the time of surgery I will also be spayed, and in the meantime have been vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for heartworm. I am a very sweet and gentle girl with no aggression who will make an excellent family pet; I should be highly trustworthy with children. Pending completion of my medical, I am seeking a foster home (I like other dogs so could easily join a multiple pet household). If you can offer me a place to hang my hat, please click here to complete an online application or email firstname.lastname@example.org and request an application. With love in the meantime ... Whisper xxoo
